(Reported by Ma Weiran from Dept. of Strip Processing & Finishing Technology) Recently, the complete set of threading unit designed and supplied by Sino-heavymach for Maanshan (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. (Magang for short) for its silicon steel product yield upgrading technological transformation project has went through hot test successfully at the first time. The unit performance and product quality were widely recognized and highlighted by end-user and involved participants in this researching and hot trial testing, paving a solid foundation for reaching the designed capacity in near future. Sino-heavymach’s deputy managing director Qiu Mingjun attended the ceremony.
Magang silicon steel product yield upgrading technological transformation project mainly includes threading unit, its matched workshop, and auxiliary utilities, etc.
The maximum designed speed and largest production tension of this equipment are respectively 300m/min and 70KN, could produce medium and high grade non-oriented silicon strip with the width as 1350mm to the maximum and thickness as 1.8~3.0mm, and function as threading welding, heating-up, and side trimming of strip. The threading welding of this unit could improve the silicon steel production yield of high grade non-oriented silicon coil after normalizing pickling; the pre-heating could strengthen the strip plasticity and rolling stability of the medium and high grade silicon coil before rolling; and side trimming could reduce the strip breakage rate of subsequent rolling process by eliminate the strip with severe edge cracking, so that the running efficiency and product quality are both improved ultimately.
The put into operation of this project could further broaden the influence of Sino-heavymach in the field of silicon strip production, which laid the groundwork for the deeper cooperation between Sino-heavymach and Magang.
